Full Stack Software Developer, Remote Contractor

About the role

A developer joins a client team to maintain and extend backend services and web applications, keeping the platform dependable while supporting web and AI workflows. The contract is full time, long term and fully remote.

What you will do

• Build and maintain services and web apps with Java, Maven and Node.js for product demos
• Handle maintenance and component work on the client's web platform
• Clear backlog items such as technical debt, dependency upgrades, bug fixes and epic support
• Support dependable builds and delivery using Buildkite and CI/CD practices
• Work directly with the client's engineers, reporting progress and blockers and managing tasks alone
• Help with infrastructure changes, web apps and AI workflow improvements as priorities shift

What they look for

• Six or more years of professional software development experience
• Two or more years building software with Java and Maven plus Node.js
• Full stack experience delivering production applications across frontend and backend
• Critical judgement when assessing AI tools, with hands-on use of generative AI to speed delivery without lowering quality
• CI/CD pipeline experience and familiarity with Buildkite
• Strong written and spoken English, plus autonomy and collaboration skills

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Adobe Experience Manager
