Senior Data Scientist

About the role

Models have to be explainable and documented for a regulated setting, so the work pairs analytics with governance and risk review. The role also leads other data scientists and analysts.

What you will do

• Lead data science and advanced analytics work for underwriting insight, operational performance and risk management.
• Turn business problems into scalable analytical use cases that fit regulatory and risk expectations.
• Oversee model design, validation, deployment and monitoring, with documentation and controls.
• Work with data governance and risk teams on model explainability and compliance.
• Guide a team of data scientists and analysts, and explain findings to non-technical leaders.

What they look for

• Bachelor's degree in data science, engineering or a related field.
• Fifteen or more years of progressive experience in data, analytics or engineering.
• Knowledge of data governance, data engineering and analytics enablement, plus familiarity with AI and ML concepts.
• Insurance experience covering risk and regulatory considerations.

Nice to have

• Master's degree in data science, engineering or a related field.
• Experience leading organisational change and building data-driven cultures.
