Staff Python Engineer

About the role

Build and maintain data pipelines that turn factory machine data into analytics-ready information. Work with cloud and data science colleagues on scalable backend services for an enterprise SaaS platform.

What you will do

• Develop backend features in Python for a large enterprise SaaS product
• Design data models and pipelines that convert high-volume sensor streams into clean time-series events
• Own a sync and reconciliation engine keeping distributed edge clients consistent with the cloud
• Build integrations linking the platform with customer enterprise systems
• Create a configuration system letting enterprise customers tailor behaviour without code forks
• Build fast, reliable APIs that support latency-sensitive operational interfaces

What they look for

• At least ten years of professional software development, with Python and Django required
• Experience with large, complex backend SaaS applications
• Strong ability to model complex data systems and deliver scalable solutions
• Hands-on experience maintaining production code and iterating on customer feedback

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Celery, RabbitMQ, TimescaleDB or Athena
• Background in manufacturing or industrial technology
