AI Engineer

About the role

A fully remote hands-on role on a client development team, building agentic AI features and backend services for a training and communication platform. You will own well-defined problems and deliver quality solutions independently.

What you will do

• Build, run and consume MCP servers covering tool design, auth, multi-tenant security and deployment
• Create LLM agents with tool calling and multi-agent orchestration
• Test and evaluate agent behaviour and add production observability
• Develop backend services in Python and Java with attention to performance and data quality
• Use AI coding assistants daily and take part in code reviews
• Break tasks into manageable pieces and collaborate with product and QA on requirements

What they look for

• Strong written and spoken English
• At least four years of backend-heavy development with Java and Python and heavy agentic AI use
• Solid Java and Python skills including data structures, relational databases and SQL
• Experience with microservices and independent delivery of well-defined problems

Nice to have

• Familiarity with cloud platforms, especially GCP
• Knowledge of containers, caching and distributed systems
