Backend Engineer (Java)

About the role

Build and maintain the API-driven services behind a benefits platform's core customer experience, including navigation, search and content. The team works on event-oriented architecture across several products.

What you will do

• Design, build and maintain backend services and REST APIs in Java
• Own features from start to finish on a key product with senior support
• Work on the entry point of the benefits suite: home, content, navigation, search and translations
• Help set architectural direction for consistent experiences across products
• Shape AI-assisted engineering practices together with the team

What they look for

• Solid backend engineering skills with Java and Spring Boot
• Experience building REST APIs and modelling data
• Familiarity with event-driven architecture
• Willingness to work with MongoDB, Golang, Docker, Kubernetes and GCP
• Based in the UK or Ireland, with no visa sponsorship available
