Business Development Manager

About the role

An individual contributor sales role focused on building and deepening relationships with crop insurance agents across the eastern United States, with heavy travel expected. The aim is profitable premium growth through recruiting and supporting producers.

What you will do

• Recruit new crop insurance agents and persuade them to place business with the company
• Grow the share of business placed by agents already appointed
• Work with sales leadership to target agents who fit culture, profitability and territory
• Generate new opportunities through cold calling, networking, trade shows and partnerships
• Track competitors, market trends and client feedback to sharpen competitive positioning
• Visit existing accounts on site, resolve issues promptly and keep producer records current

What they look for

• Bachelor degree in business, marketing or a related area, or equivalent education or experience
• At least six years of progressive professional sales experience
• Strong written and verbal communication with discretion, tact and diplomacy
• Excellent organisational and analytical abilities
• Willingness to travel extensively and flexibly, up to most of the working time
