Credit Analyst

About the role

Ratings work on a diverse book of credits, from building forecasts to defending recommendations in committee and explaining methodology to clients. Analytical writing and mentoring junior analysts are part of the job.

At a glance

What you will do

• Act as primary analyst on complex entities, prepare committee recommendations and publication materials
• Vote actively on rating committees and recommend ratings for issuers and debt issues under existing criteria
• Build forecasts, write analytical reports and turn analysis into well-supported rating calls

What they look for

• Master's in business administration, business analytics, finance or a related field, or a bachelor's plus CFA certification
• Five years as a credit analyst, financial analyst or similar role
• Financial modeling and credit analysis, with accounting, reporting standards and corporate budgeting knowledge
• Experience forecasting earnings, cash flows and liquidity to judge credit quality
• Knowledge of capital markets and the wider financial services industry, plus report writing for market participants

Nice to have

• Experience covering markets and jurisdictions outside a primary focus
• Experience training team members on day-to-day analytical problems
