Detection & Investigations Associate

About the role

Investigating suspicious bank activity and helping design controls that catch illegal behaviour and limit losses. The job involves documenting each case and working with outside authorities and other institutions when needed.

What you will do

• Investigate suspicious activity and decide, using standard criteria and your own judgement, whether it is reportable or needs escalation
• Write up and keep records of each investigation
• Work with internal and external parties, including regulators, agencies and other banks, on fraud and illegal activity cases
• Help build and improve internal controls that catch suspicious activity and recover losses

What they look for

• At least two years of relevant professional experience, or a comparable mix of education, certification and experience, including military s
• A university or college degree, or equivalent background
• Analytical thinking and sound decision making
• Knowledge of anti-money laundering and sanctions policies and procedures
• Fraud detection and prevention know-how
