Field Service Engineer

About the role

A hands-on field role maintaining and repairing EV charging stations across a regional corridor, with home-based travel to customer sites and remote technical support.

What you will do

• Service and maintain customer charging stations on a daily basis
• Trace and fix faults in electrical systems, hardware, software and networks
• Replace defective parts and complete repairs on charging equipment
• Help with installation, commissioning, upgrades, warranty work and planned maintenance
• Give remote technical help to customers and field colleagues
• Keep service records, daily worksheets and vehicle mileage accurate, and manage spare parts stock

What they look for

• At least two years in field service engineering or technical support
• Proven record of servicing, maintaining and repairing equipment
• Comfortable using a multimeter and performing continuity tests
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding ability with a practical approach to tools
• Able to work alone or with others, and to explain technical matters clearly
• Full manual UK driving licence, right to work in the UK, and no more than three penalty points

Nice to have

• Background in EV charging, automotive, clean energy or electrical engineering
• Experience with charging infrastructure or comparable electrical equipment
• Previous remote technical support work
