Field Service Technician, Pharma Solid Filling and Packaging Systems

About the role

You will install, test, maintain and repair solid filling and packaging equipment at customer sites and train users on it. The role directly affects customer retention and new business.

What you will do

• Carry out start-up and IQ, OQ and PQ validation testing on newly installed machines
• Update and modify machine control software on site and instruct customers in equipment use and upkeep
• Coordinate upgrades and development work that improve how machines function
• Support customers, the service department and sales colleagues as needed
• Keep skills current on new and existing systems through ongoing internal training
• Work fully gowned in cleanrooms and in cramped spaces around equipment

What they look for

• A two year packaging machinery qualification plus two years on packaging equipment, or five years repairing and maintaining capital equipmen
• Two years of direct customer facing experience
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally about 80 percent of the time
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and to stand, stoop, kneel and bend for much of the day

Nice to have

• A bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
• Background in the packaging sector
• Hands on with servo drives, HMIs and programmable controllers, including Allen Bradley, Siemens and PMAC systems
• Familiarity with cGMP and GAMP in pharma
