Fire Protection Project Engineer

About the role

Lead fire protection engineering and system design across commercial building projects, supervising designers and coordinating with project managers and clients on budgets, schedules and documentation.

What you will do

• Carry out engineering calculations and lay out fire protection systems that satisfy applicable codes and standards
• Resolve design conflicts and project issues using practical engineering judgment
• Assign work to designers, supervise their output and mentor junior engineering staff
• Agree scope, schedule, budget and phasing with project managers and engineers
• Produce and check complete construction documents and review drawings from other disciplines
• Keep direct contact with clients and run quality assurance checks with technical managers

What they look for

• Bachelor of Science in Fire Protection or Mechanical Engineering
• At least six years of relevant working experience
• Professional Engineer licence valid in the United States, with authority to sign and seal documents
• Proficiency with REVIT and engineering modelling software
• Comfortable using Microsoft Office applications
• Strong communication, time management, judgment, critical thinking and active listening skills

Pay

USD 110,000 to 135,000 per year
