Flight Test Planning Specialist

About the role

You will create flight test plans tied to certification requirements and coordinate with engineering, safety and regulators so each test point is ready to fly.

What you will do

• Write test plans that map to certification basis requirements, with clear objectives, success criteria and instrumentation needs
• Work with subsystem engineers to capture design intent, failure modes and technical risk, then turn that into test procedures
• Lead or support test readiness reviews by gathering input from engineering, safety and operations
• Maintain test documentation such as test point matrices, procedures, data needs and pass or fail criteria
• Coordinate with certification engineers and regulator representatives so plans and results support compliance findings
• Feed lessons learned into process improvements that speed up and tighten future planning cycles

What they look for

• A bachelor's or master's degree in aerospace engineering, engineering or a related discipline
• At least ten years of experience in flight test operations
• Solid grasp of airworthiness certification flight test programs and the rules that govern them
• Experience with safety risk management for flight testing or other complex operational testing
• Able to plan and run ground and flight tests inside certification or military programs
• Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills, plus high organisation and attention to detail

Nice to have

• An FAA pilot certificate

Pay

USD 96,300 to 132,400 per year
