Freelance CAS Modeler

About the role

Create precise digital 3D models that turn design sketches and styling concepts into production-ready surfaces for automotive and product design projects. The engagement is freelance and project-based, with scope adapted to each project.

What you will do

• Build CAS models from sketches, 2D drawings and styling requirements
• Develop and refine exterior, interior and add-on components, focusing on proportion, surfaces and form transitions
• Create and optimize concept and SubD models to suit each project
• Prepare models for design reviews, visualizations and other digital uses
• Work with designers, engineers and other stakeholders, and handle complex modeling tasks independently

What they look for

• Several years of professional CAS modeling experience, ideally in automotive or high-end product design
• Strong skills in Autodesk Alias, Maya or similar CAS and 3D tools
• Experience with SubD, poly or comparable modeling techniques
• Ability to turn 2D sketches into accurate, high-quality 3D models with a strong eye for surface quality
• Fluent written and spoken German and English
• Independent, structured working style and comfort in interdisciplinary teams
