Freelance Mechanical CFD Engineer, AI Trainer

About the role

You will help teach and assess AI agents on advanced fluid simulation work, preparing reference solutions and automated checks for their output.

What you will do

• Set up and run CFD simulations starting from CAD geometry
• Create verified reference solutions for simulation tasks
• Write Python scripts that check the agent's results
• Evaluate how well AI agents perform on expert simulation work

What they look for

• Degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering, or energy, oil and gas or similar
• Several years of practical CFD work in industry or research, meshing included
• Hands-on use of OpenFOAM, ANSYS Fluent or CFX, or STAR-CCM+
• Experience with verification and validation, including mesh independence and benchmark comparisons
• Comfortable using Python and GitHub
• English at B2 level or higher

Nice to have

• Background in aerospace, automotive, offshore or turbomachinery
• Experience with multiphase or particle-laden flows
• A PhD is preferred but not required
