French Translator

About the role

The translator produces high-quality French translations of varied content for assigned clients, following set processes and style guides. Quality, productivity and timeliness targets are central to the work.

What you will do

• Translate marketing, help, UI and regulated content for assigned clients and projects
• Use standard CAT tools and client-specific translation and query tools
• Copy-edit selected content types in support of the team
• Follow established translation processes, style guides and client requirements
• Track personal error statistics and address weaker areas through training
• Meet productivity, on-time delivery and quality targets

What they look for

• Native-level fluency in French from France and written and spoken English fluency
• A degree in translation, applied languages or linguistics, or equivalent education and experience
• Two to four years of translation, localization, editing or content writing experience
• Familiarity with the localization process and standard software such as Windows and Office
• Experience with CAT tools such as XTM or SDL Studio and issue tracking tools such as JIRA
• Strong communication skills, ability to meet tight deadlines and to work in a virtual team
