Junior Controls Engineer

About the role

An entry-level engineering role supporting the creation, programming and upkeep of industrial automation and control systems, with hands-on work on PLC, HMI and SCADA platforms and travel to customer sites.

What you will do

• Help build and implement control and automation systems for manufacturing and industrial operations
• Write, adjust and debug PLC, HMI and SCADA programs
• Contribute to electrical design work such as schematics, wiring diagrams and panel layouts
• Join senior engineers for testing, debugging and validation of systems
• Diagnose control faults to keep equipment downtime low
• Record software configuration and control changes and assist with field commissioning

What they look for

• Degree in electrical engineering, automation, mechatronics or a comparable discipline
• Up to two years of experience in industrial automation or control systems, internships included
• Basic PLC programming knowledge across Allen-Bradley/Rockwell, Siemens or similar platforms
• Familiarity with HMI and SCADA development
• Understanding of sensors, actuators and motor control, and ability to read electrical schematics
• Willingness to travel up to half the time, including overnight stays, and US citizenship

Nice to have

• Experience with electrical CAD tools such as AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN
• Basic coding in Python, C++ or ladder logic
• Hands-on involvement in automation projects
• Knowledge of robotics, motion control and protocols like EtherNet/IP, Modbus or PROFIBUS

USD 70,000 to 80,000 per year
