Control Expert (Compliance)

About the role

Lead targeted assurance work and shape the independent assurance framework, keeping compliance aligned with regulatory standards while guiding colleagues and managing stakeholders.

What you will do

• Lead and carry out targeted or ad hoc independent assurance activities
• Act as subject matter expert in assigned areas and keep industry relations
• Design, develop and maintain the assurance framework and methodology
• Propose improvements to assurance processes and develop tailored solutions
• Guide assurance staff and ensure documentation quality
• Contribute to compliance risk assessment and internal and external reporting, following up gaps and escalating risks

What they look for

• Five to seven years of experience in compliance assurance
• Strong grasp of best practices for managing compliance risks in a bank business model
• Analytical and critical thinking with justified decision making
• Understanding of banking products, processes and IT systems
• Expert knowledge of European and Baltic regulation, advanced English plus excellent Latvian, Lithuanian or Estonian

Nice to have

• Certifications in internal audit, sanctions or AML
