Lead Bioinformatics Scientist (Oncology)

The team builds and validates sequencing-based tests for cancer care. Success looks like sound analytical validation, useful real-world evidence and pipelines that hold up in regulatory and clinical settings.

At a glance

What you will do

• Own the analytical validation plan for an NGS assay, designing and troubleshooting feasibility and performance studies such as PPA and LoD
• Run real-world evidence studies on therapy selection and patient management, from choosing cohorts to analysing plasma mutation calls
• Build quick prototypes and pipelines that combine data from several products
• Develop algorithms and tools for new products, including work on the production pipeline
• Advise other groups on bioinformatics methods and help with regulatory submissions, study reports and publications

What they look for

• Expert knowledge of NGS tools, sequencing QC and variant calling
• Experience with WES, WGS or targeted sequencing of tissue and cfDNA, including somatic SNVs, indels, CNVs and fusions
• Strong Python, R and shell skills, plus statistical methods for assay performance evaluation
• Ability to explain technical findings to wet lab groups and cross-functional partners

Nice to have

• Experience with regulated or clinical-grade assay development such as CLIA/CAP or FDA submissions
• Knowledge of clinical genomics, oncogenic drivers and variant interpretation
