Local Communications and PR Associate

About the role

Act as a storyteller and project lead for local communications across many markets in multiple states. The role pairs strategic planning with media relations and cross functional coordination.

What you will do

• Handle local media relations, triage incoming requests and manage local crises
• Find internal content opportunities and act as the local point of contact to boost brand presence
• Manage local PR agencies day to day and develop market media plans with local teams
• Produce media materials such as messaging, FAQs, blog posts, videos and statements
• Own the communications calendar and build tracking and analysis tools for local campaigns
• Plan and support events for market launches and other key activities

What they look for

• A bachelor's degree or comparable practical experience
• Three years in communications, journalism, media relations or a similar field
• Two years juggling several communications or PR projects at once while meeting deadlines
• Two years of media relations work, including PR writing

Nice to have

• Strong spoken and written communication skills
• Experience handling media and social media relations calmly and with good judgment in fast paced settings
