Manager I, Estimating

About the role

Lead the preconstruction estimating team through the bidding process for large solar projects, keeping bids accurate, compliant and competitively priced while guiding the handoff to construction.

What you will do

• Direct the estimating team across all bidding stages, from planning through proposal submission
• Mentor estimators, review their estimates and assess project risks and opportunities
• Improve preconstruction processes and systems on an ongoing basis
• Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, vendors, engineers and clients to move awarded projects into operations
• Support contract negotiations and set project execution strategies

What they look for

• Bachelor's degree in a construction related field
• At least five years of preconstruction or construction experience, or an equivalent mix of training and work
• Background in estimating, project management and contract negotiation with solid knowledge of construction methods
• Commitment to safety and quality in every estimate

Nice to have

• Experience leading estimating or preconstruction teams on utility-scale solar or renewable energy projects
• Strong grasp of estimating methods, construction means and methods, procurement and project execution
