Manager, Solar Engineering

About the role

Solar arrays are the core capability of the company's high-power satellites, and this role owns that program end to end. The work spans module innovation, qualification, tooling, automation and high-rate production for missions in harsh radiation and multi-year lifetimes.

What you will do

• Build and lead a cross-functional group covering design, manufacturing, process and automation
• Own the solar hardware baseline from array and module design through qualification and flight production
• Take hardware and mechanisms from concept through testing and analysis to on-orbit operation
• Set the strategy and standards for designing and making solar hardware at high production rates
• Work with other teams on product requirements and hardware design practices

What they look for

• Experience leading engineering teams across design, manufacturing and test disciplines
• A record of taking hardware from conceptual design through qualification and into operation
• Judgment for picking technologies that improve rate, reliability and unit cost

Nice to have

• Background in spacecraft solar arrays or similar power hardware
