Paralegal & Litigation Specialist

About the role

Support multi-faceted impact litigation and legal advocacy projects aimed at preventing authoritarianism, with room to grow expertise across stages of litigation.

What you will do

• Organise and manage case files and documents, and help lead the discovery process
• Prepare and finalise legal memos and pleadings, and coordinate court filings
• Research and synthesise findings, then draft memoranda, reports and other communications
• Cite-check and Bluebook, fact-check and proofread court filings, letters and public-facing documents
• Draft external communications such as press releases, talking points, op-eds and blog posts
• Project manage parts of litigation work, including work plans and progress tracking

What they look for

• At least three years of federal civil litigation filing experience
• Familiarity with preparing, finalising and filing pleadings, cite checking and Bluebooking, and drafting discovery materials
• Knowledge of federal rules of civil procedure and state or local court rules
• Excellent writing, research and communication skills with close attention to detail
• A flexible, action-oriented mindset and a collaborative, team-oriented approach
• Commitment to the organisation's mission and cross-ideological strategy
