Senior Backend Engineer, AI Platform

About the role

A backend engineering role on a platform team building an agentic AI platform that helps feature teams ship robust products faster. The work spans generative AI, distributed systems and financial workflows for a large global user base.

What you will do

• Design, build and maintain scalable, high performance object oriented backend services
• Develop public REST APIs in Java and internal gRPC APIs for service and system communication
• Craft system designs, lead design decisions and align with other senior engineers
• Write automated unit, integration, end to end, concurrency and load or performance tests
• Automate testing, monitoring, healing, scaling and continuous integration and deployment
• Review code, mentor junior and mid level engineers and promote engineering best practices

What they look for

• Experience designing and building agentic AI systems and services that support autonomous workflows and reasoning
• Strong backend development skills in object oriented languages, including Java
• Familiarity with REST and gRPC API design and inter service communication
• Ability to troubleshoot complex production issues and provide live site support
