Senior Backend Engineer (Golang)

About the role

The engineer builds a Go integration layer that gives downstream applications safe access to data held in a core banking system. The work focuses on extraction, modelling and access patterns rather than product-facing endpoints.

What you will do

• Build Go services that turn core banking data into a consistent model for downstream applications
• Maintain APIs or event streams that let other teams use the data without touching the core
• Enforce data integrity, access boundaries and schema versioning
• Help decide whether data products are served in batch, event-driven or real-time form
• Collaborate with data engineers so new data products can be queried downstream

What they look for

• Five or more years of backend engineering, with Go as the main language
• Experience building integration, abstraction or platform layers between legacy systems and modern applications
• Comfort with transactional systems or payments
• Experience with event-driven architectures such as Kafka and CDC pipelines
• Experience provisioning cloud services on AWS or similar providers

Nice to have

• Prior exposure to legacy core banking systems
