Senior Backend Engineer, Payments and Ledger Systems

About the role

Build backend systems that move, reconcile and track money in production for a financial infrastructure company. Correctness, reliability and real time processing are central to the work.

What you will do

• Design and operate services for accounts, payments, balances, cards and settlement
• Build reliable services that move money in production
• Develop distributed and event driven architectures
• Create ledger style data models and transaction workflows
• Own backend services from design through monitoring and operation
• Diagnose production issues involving financial state and transaction integrity

What they look for

• Six or more years of professional backend engineering experience
• Production ownership of systems that move or manage money
• Prior employment at a payments, banking, brokerage or neobank company
• Hands on experience with distributed or event driven systems
• Strong SQL skills
• Experience with ledger style or transactional financial data models
