What you will do
- Take full technical charge of client data projects, from early talks to architecture, build and delivery
- Run client sessions to pin down needs and turn vague problems into clear technical plans
- Design data architectures covering ingestion, transformation, compute, storage, analytics and BI
- Build and maintain production pipelines, transformations, models and platform components
- Handle several client projects at once with clear priorities, timelines and documentation
- Write client-facing documents, presentations and updates, and work with software and AI engineers

- At least five years of hands-on professional data engineering, ideally with senior ownership
- Advanced SQL ability
- Strong practical use of one or more of Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery or Redshift
- Solid grasp of data architecture and modeling, including patterns, anti-patterns and trade-offs
- Experience designing environments across ingestion, compute, storage, transformation and analytics
- Hands-on cloud work in AWS, GCP or Azure beyond just using hosted services
