What you will do
- Take charge of data project delivery, from first client talks through design, build and ongoing support
- Run client conversations to pin down needs and turn vague problems into concrete technical plans
- Design architectures covering ingestion, transformation, compute, storage, analytics and BI
- Build and maintain production pipelines, models, transformations and platform components
- Handle several client engagements at once with clear priorities, timelines and documentation
- Write client-facing materials such as presentations, meeting notes and project updates

- At least five years of hands-on professional data engineering, ideally with senior ownership
- Advanced SQL ability
- Practical experience with one or more of Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery or Redshift
- Solid grasp of data architecture and modeling, including patterns, anti-patterns and trade-offs
- Hands-on cloud work in AWS, GCP or Azure beyond just using hosted services
- Experience deploying or owning data platforms and configuring infrastructure
