Build and maintain FHIR based APIs supporting federal healthcare data exchange initiatives. Turn profile and implementation guide requirements into secure, tested production code.
What you will do
- Design, develop and maintain FHIR based APIs for healthcare data exchange programs
- Translate implementation guide and profile requirements into production grade code
- Work with the technical lead on architecture decisions
- Write clear documentation of technical designs and decisions
What they look for
- Backend software engineering experience of eight or more years, including production REST APIs
- Three or more years implementing HL7 FHIR resources, profiles, extensions and RESTful APIs
- Experience building or extending a FHIR server such as HAPI FHIR, or FHIR client integrations
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in computer science, software engineering or information systems
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Nice to have
- HL7 FHIR Foundational Implementer certification, with Advanced Developer or Advanced Architect as a plus
- Experience with Da Vinci DEQM, Quality Measure IG, CRMI or QI-Core
- Familiarity with CQL for digital quality measure logic
- Experience with FHIR Bulk Data and automated profile validation in CI/CD pipelines
