Senior Financial Crimes Investigator (AML)

About the role

The investigator detects suspicious financial activity, keeps work compliant with regulations and performs quality control. The role leads investigations, may supervise junior analysts and works with clients on financial crime risk.

What you will do

• Spot data anomalies and red flags for money laundering, terrorist financing, fraud and sanctions breaches, escalating cases as needed
• Confirm client identities and understand the purpose of their banking relationship under KYC rules
• Carry out quality control checks and support analysts with workflow and administrative items
• Prepare written work for internal and client review, adjust it from feedback and apply lessons to later work
• Handle advanced duties such as client communication, production data analysis and building client specific aids and training material
• Meet deadlines and follow all applicable laws, regulations and company and client procedures

What they look for

• Completed bachelor's degree
• Skill in investigating suspicious activity, analysing findings and writing detailed Suspicious Activity Reports
• Solid grasp of financial or banking industry rules and laws
• Clear written and spoken communication, including concise narrative summaries with recommendations
• Record of meeting or beating daily production targets with strong time management and attention to detail
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word and quick uptake of new tools
