You will interpret, draft and maintain retirement plan documents so they meet regulations and match client goals, including during mergers, conversions and restatements. Accuracy and clear technical writing define success.
What you will do
- Review retirement plan documents for design features, compliance needs and regulatory fit
- Turn client and business needs into tailored, compliant prototype plan documents
- Write and keep current 401(k), profit sharing and money purchase plan documents
- Check protected benefits so participant rights survive plan changes and conversions
- Spot gaps, risks and inconsistencies in documents and propose fixes
- Work with legal, compliance, operations and client teams, and support process improvements
What they look for
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance or a related area, or comparable experience
- Solid grasp of defined contribution plans and how plan documents are structured
- Knowledge of ERISA, IRS qualification rules and compliance standards
- Background analyzing amendments, restatements and conversions of plan documents
- Skill at reading complex legal and technical material with close attention to detail
- Strong analysis, problem solving and clear structured writing, plus multitasking across teams
Nice to have
- QKA certification or an advanced credential such as QKC or ERPA
- Experience keeping plan document libraries or prototype language databases, or doing document quality checks
