Senior Software Engineer

About the role

A senior engineering role building and maintaining the billing and invoicing services behind high volume payment processing, working within a development team and reporting to an engineering manager.

What you will do

• Build, extend and look after core billing and invoicing services written in C and PHP
• Treat AI coding assistants such as Claude and Cursor as everyday tools for design, coding, testing and refactoring
• Take full ownership of shipped work, checking AI produced code for correctness, security and performance
• Help keep transaction processing services efficient, dependable, secure and able to scale
• Read and make sense of large existing codebases

What they look for

• Solid senior level background in C and/or PHP development
• Experience delivering software services that handle very large transaction volumes
• Understanding of what makes applications reliable, redundant, secure and highly available
• Comfort using AI assisted development tools fluently in daily work
• Willingness to take responsibility for the quality of everything you release

• Prior work on accounting or billing system development
