What you will do
- Run the control plane for large distributed SQL databases, automating provisioning, failover, backups and upgrades
- Own the Kubernetes networking layer linking services to storage, including proxies such as ProxySQL, tuned for latency and resilience
- Deliver quarterly team goals, guide engineers through ambiguous problems and keep everyone supported
- Partner with product, design and analytics across ideation, technical constraints and risk trade-offs
- Set code review and design standards, monitor metrics, handle on-call duties and mentor teammates
