Senior Software Engineer, Backend, Payments Platform

About the role

Build scalable backend services and APIs for fiat payment rails and funds-flow systems, helping turn the payments stack into a platform that lets other teams add payment methods quickly.

What you will do

• Design and build fault-tolerant payment processing services in Go with high reliability and correctness
• Own payment features end to end, from technical design through deployment, monitoring and iteration
• Create platform primitives, extension points and self-serve APIs so other teams can add payment methods without core changes
• Work with engineers, product managers and leadership to turn business requirements into quarterly technical plans
• Improve reliability, observability and performance across payment services and resolve bottlenecks
• Raise engineering quality through code reviews, design discussions and service-oriented best practices

What they look for

• 5 or more years in backend engineering with production services in service-oriented or microservices architectures
• Record of owning features end to end in a fast-moving environment
• Responsible use of generative AI with human oversight to improve workflow efficiency, cost and quality
