Senior Software Engineer, Distributed Databases

About the role

Work across the database stack of a platform that supports stateful, data-intensive applications, shaping the consistency, durability and latency guarantees customers depend on. Correctness under concurrency and failure is central.

What you will do

• Build transaction and storage paths that keep writes durable and reads consistent
• Design deterministic simulations that reproduce rare event orderings and failures
• Plan and carry out stateful upgrades through staged rollout, failover and recovery
• Take part in on-call rotation and incident response
• Own major changes from design to production and mentor engineers through reviews and debugging

What they look for

• Can make architecture and implementation decisions under uncertain requirements
• Deep care for correctness under concurrency and failure
