Senior Software Engineer, JAX

About the role

Senior engineers are sought to advance an AI platform, focusing on making deep learning frameworks faster with JAX. The aim is a fast, modular platform covering data, training and analysis for many deep learning use cases.

What you will do

• Help contribute to the JAX open source project as part of a wider engineering effort
• Design and build core JAX components and optimise performance on company products
• Partner with applied AI researchers and leaders to create durable future models
• Create tooling that raises the efficiency of teams building AI based systems
• Connect the newest numerical computing, simulation and deep learning research with real products

What they look for

• A bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering or a similar field, or comparable experience
• At least six years of relevant professional experience
• Strong C and C++ plus Python programming ability
• Familiarity with machine learning frameworks and how they work internally, such as PyTorch, TensorFlow or scikit-learn
• A record of delivering customer facing solutions while balancing feature requests against defects
• Solid grounding in CPU and GPU architectures, numeric libraries and modular software design

Nice to have

• Understanding of distributed deep learning training, including multi GPU and multi node setups and synchronous versus asynchronous approache
• Experience with software release cycles spanning development, deployment, release and CI
• Background building distributed systems and services at large scale
