Software Engineer II, Backend (Identity Decisioning)

About the role

Join a team that builds backend services verifying customer identity across products, meeting rules such as KYC. The work supports transparent payment products used in online and in-store retail.

What you will do

• Split larger projects into tasks, ship them in stages and coordinate with colleagues to meet deadlines
• Work with product, design and analytics on ideas, explain technical limits and weigh risks in decisions
• Create and track metrics, raise issues when needed and share on-call and maintenance duties
• Take part in growth activities such as interviewing to strengthen team community

What they look for

• Background designing, building and releasing backend systems, with fluency in Python or Kotlin
• Familiarity with distributed system concepts and tools such as AWS, MySQL and Kubernetes
• Ability to turn a simple business problem into a solution spanning several components, with clear, tested, extensible code
• Comfort reading a large codebase, debugging other people's code and giving feedback in reviews
• Strong written and spoken communication for collaboration with a global engineering team, plus a related degree or equivalent experience
