Software Engineer II

About the role

Join a team that owns the rules engine at the heart of a healthcare supply chain exchange platform, building features that evaluate routing and business rules and run resulting actions.

What you will do

• Build and improve features in the rules execution service that consumes document events and publishes outcomes
• Implement rule types, specifications and actions on a shared rules framework and extension libraries
• Support event driven rules, including rule definitions stored in MongoDB, event matching and caching
• Contribute to business rule statistics and change request persistence capabilities
• Write JUnit 5 and Mockito tests and assist with monolith decoupling and Java version migrations

What they look for

• Two to three years or more of software development experience
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or comparable work experience
• Two or more years building solutions with Java and J2EE technologies such as Spring and Maven
• Working knowledge of cloud technologies
• Exposure to a rules engine or event driven architecture with event buses or publish subscribe messaging

Nice to have

• Experience with MongoDB, Elasticsearch or MySQL
• Exposure to Liquibase or other database migration tools
• Experience with feature flags or configuration services
