- Deliver clean code against sprint commitments, following team standards
- Design, build, test, deploy and support major features or large parts of the team's software
- Make design trade-offs around maintainability, performance, dependencies, delivery speed and operational risk
- Lead root-cause analysis for complex defects and improve the systems involved
- Review code, join design and planning talks, and mentor newer engineers
- Use approved AI tools for coding, debugging and documentation, checking output for correctness and security
