What you will do

  • Write and maintain Drools (KIE) rules in DRL, decision tables and rule templates for underwriting and eligibility logic
  • Tune rule execution for low latency, covering salience, agenda groups, rule flows and conflict resolution
  • Keep every decision deterministic, explainable and auditable so it passes regulatory review
  • Design rule sets for reuse, versioning and controlled rollout, and join design reviews
  • Write unit and scenario tests across decision paths, and debug rule issues in production

  • Ten or more years in software engineering, with seven or more hands-on in Drools and KIE
  • Strong Java plus Spring and Spring Boot
  • Experience with stateless and stateful KIE sessions and with rule performance tuning
  • Background in policy-driven or decisioning systems and business rules management systems
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms and CI/CD pipelines

Nice to have

  • Building a lightweight orchestration layer with Apache Pekko
