A journalist will cover how people in the United States eat, exercise, sleep and indulge, going past service pieces to explore what a healthy life now means.

What you will do

Report and write on shifting health habits and emerging wellness trends for a wide readership
Examine the cultural, political and historical forces behind new health developments
Assess scientific studies and report on changing health policy
Build sources and reach influential figures in health and science
Balance breaking news coverage with longer investigative projects

What they look for

Substantial experience writing and reporting on health, wellness or science for a broad audience
A record of cultivating sources, spotting trends and shaping national discussion
Strong grasp of scientific principles and the ability to judge research quality
Excellent writing with a magazine sensibility
Plenty of story ideas and eagerness to pitch and comment on major news
