Structural Aerospace Engineer

About the role

Analyze, design and test aircraft structures to meet safety, weight and durability targets, combining hand calculations with simulation and supporting validation through testing.

What you will do

• Run structural and stress analysis using hand calculations and finite element methods.
• Perform dynamic analysis including rotor dynamics, torsional systems and environmental equivalence.
• Work with designers to apply findings, influence load paths and optimize structures for strength, weight and manufacturability.
• Analyze failure modes, support test programs and confirm compliance with regulatory and customer requirements.
• Document stress analysis to support release of drawings and engineering documents.
• Advise on design concepts weighing risk, cost and performance.

What they look for

• A bachelor's or master's degree in structural engineering or a related field.
• Significant experience in structural analysis and design.
• Proficiency with ANSYS, ABAQUS and Siemens NX CAD.
• Strong grasp of structural mechanics, dynamics and materials science, with the ability to interpret complex results.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.

Nice to have

• Ability to obtain and maintain a US Secret security clearance.
• Experience integrating emerging technologies such as generative AI and automation into daily work.
