Supervisor, Professional Coding

About the role

Lead a professional coding team so patient records are coded accurately and on time, supporting compliant charging and correct reimbursement. The role combines coding expertise with people management and collaboration across revenue cycle teams.

What you will do

• Lead coding work to keep ICD-10, HCPCS and CPT code application accurate, consistent and timely
• Track departmental metrics for quality, efficiency and production
• Work with revenue cycle leaders and teams, especially patient accounts and professional billing, to resolve denials and patient concerns
• Support use and updating of team software and resources such as Epic work queues, Claims Manager and coding references
• Coordinate and deliver training for team members as needed

What they look for

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent
• At least 2 years of coding leadership experience with growing responsibility
• Thorough knowledge of medical coding and reimbursement topics
• Experience with electronic medical records
• Strong customer service, leadership, organisational and conflict resolution skills
