Technical Sales Architect

About the role

Supports the technical side of sales for telecom products and services at named accounts, acting as the link between customers and the company throughout the sales cycle and beyond.

What you will do

• Back the sales manager on technical sales at assigned accounts or projects
• Serve as the main technical contact for customers, answering their technical and business questions promptly
• Contribute technical compliance answers for RFPs and RFIs with the central bid desk
• Produce solution overview documents for inclusion in offers
• Run proof of concept exercises and customer workshops
• Pass customer functional requirements back to product management and engineering

What they look for

• Familiarity with telecom network equipment and how it operates
• Able to map call flows and sequence diagrams and read protocol specifications
• Grasp of core, edge and provisioning telephony concepts, including 5G and older 2G, 3G and 4G networks
• Knowledge of at least two signalling protocols such as SIP, Diameter, SS7, ENUM or HTTP2
• Understanding of cloud and virtualisation requirements: Kubernetes, Helm, CNF, NFV, OpenStack, KVM, VMware
• Comfortable with software packaging, OS upgrades and Linux, plus OA&M tasks like backup, KPIs, monitoring and alarms

Nice to have

• Security or analytics knowledge
• Certificates in Linux, virtualisation, Kubernetes or security
• A four year engineering degree in telecom, computer science or IT, or equivalent experience
• Prior work at a carrier core network group or a telecom equipment vendor
