A senior technical claims role handling the most complex, high exposure and sensitive workers compensation cases. The adjuster also guides colleagues and acts as backup to the claims supervisor.
What you will do
- Investigate complex, catastrophic and high exposure losses with detailed strategic resolution plans
- Spot fraud indicators and refer cases to SIU using advanced pattern recognition
- Lead medical management on complex claims, including specialists, life care planners, UR and IMEs
- Direct the full litigation process, from choosing defense counsel to preparing for trial
- Negotiate and finalize high value settlements and manage multi lien resolution
- Pursue subrogation, contribution and apportionment recovery with vendors and outside counsel
What they look for
- Senior technical expertise with complex, high exposure workers compensation claims
- Experience with catastrophic injury, multi party litigation and novel legal or medical issues
- Skill in permanent disability rating, reserving and financial stewardship
- Ability to manage litigation strategy, legal spend and settlement authority
- Knowledge of lien resolution including MSA, Medi-Cal, provider and attorney liens
