Assistant Vice President, Data Solutions Engineering

About the role

Leads the creation of operational data pipelines and fully documented datasets that cover integrations, working closely with business partners to understand needs and answer them with engineering solutions. The role reports to a vice president and mentors junior engineers.

What you will do

• Deliver well architected data solutions alongside platform, governance, science and analytics colleagues
• Work with business teams to shape data solutions and mentor early career data engineers
• Lead the build and deployment of data pipelines
• Guarantee that pipelines are reliable, scalable and properly governed

What they look for

• Degree in mathematics, computer science or engineering
• Solid grasp of ETL or ELT, APIs, cloud and data operations
• At least seven years in a growing data engineering role, including five or more with Python and SQL
• Good knowledge of data lakes, governance and current data quality methods
• Strong analytical and problem solving ability with sound conceptual thinking
• Clear communication in speech and writing

Nice to have

• Knowledge of actuarial, investment or finance domains in insurance or reinsurance
