CNC Field Service Technician

About the role

A field based role installing, repairing and maintaining CNC machine tools and controls at customer sites. The technician works from home and travels a regional territory each day.

What you will do

• Travel to customer locations to install, troubleshoot, repair and service machine tools and their controls
• Research equipment faults using online manuals, technical documents and vendor resources
• Complete and submit accurate reports on repairs, installations and machine status to the office and the customer
• Carry out preventive maintenance visits and provide technical support and training after sales
• Keep up to date knowledge of the machine tool industry and the product lines handled

What they look for

• Proven mechanical and electrical repair or engineering ability
• Capable of reading and interpreting drawings and schematics
• Strong technical, communication and presentation skills
• Able to lift 40 to 50 pounds regularly
• Willing to work flexible hours and travel and drive frequently across a region

Nice to have

• Background in CNC repair
• Experience with software such as Microsoft Office
