Data Engineer

About the role

Build and maintain the data infrastructure behind analytics and decision making across the firm. The role sits between enterprise data platforms and client facing analytics and reports to the enterprise data architect.

What you will do

• Design and optimize scalable ETL and ELT pipelines spanning on premises, cloud and hybrid systems
• Build and run enterprise data warehouses, data lakes and lakehouse solutions
• Write production grade SQL, Python and Spark code for transformation, enrichment and validation
• Enforce data governance, lineage tracking and cataloging standards
• Ensure data quality through automated monitoring, testing and service level adherence
• Support CI/CD and infrastructure as code for data platform deployments

What they look for

• Bachelor's degree and at least four years in data engineering, data architecture or a related field
• Track record of building and running production data pipelines at scale
• Advanced SQL plus proficiency in a scripting language, ideally Python
• Hands on work with a major cloud data platform such as AWS, Azure or GCP
• Solid grasp of data modeling concepts including star schema and Data Mesh

Nice to have

• Familiarity with streaming or real time processing such as Kafka or Spark Streaming
• Exposure to governance and metadata tools such as Purview, Collibra or Alation
• Cloud certifications such as Azure Data Engineer Associate
• Master's degree in a relevant field
