Director of Information Technology

About the role

Lead technology strategy, security and infrastructure for an independent watchdog organisation, reporting to the VP of Finance and Administration and helping the team get more value from its systems.

What you will do

• Shape a multi-year technology roadmap tied to the strategic plan and turn it into yearly priorities and measurable goals
• Advise executives on technology tradeoffs among stability, adoption speed, cost, compliance and capacity, with clear options
• Run the cybersecurity program, including risk posture, virtual CISO direction, assessments, penetration tests and insurance readiness
• Write and maintain technology, data governance, security and acceptable use policies and drive their adoption
• Define compliance for privacy, accessibility and PCI DSS and advise internally on technology legal questions
• Lead and develop the IT team, setting priorities, service standards and succession depth

What they look for

• At least eight years of progressive IT experience
• Three or more years leading technology strategy, budget and staff
• Background preferably in a nonprofit, law firm or similarly data sensitive setting
• Demonstrated experience in the areas described in the posting
