Eastern Regional Development Director

About the role

A fundraising role focused on securing major and planned gifts for a conservation organisation. The person builds and manages donor relationships across an eastern region.

What you will do

• Manage a portfolio of roughly one hundred to one hundred twenty major donors and prospects.
• Identify, cultivate, solicit and steward major gifts while meeting annual solicitation and revenue targets.
• Secure planned gifts, especially bequests in wills and beneficiary designations for retirement accounts and insurance.
• Build working ties with development colleagues, regional directors, lands and conservation teams and other staff.
• Record contact notes, track revenue progress and spot new prospects in the fundraising CRM.
• Help design and run strategic fundraising events together with event and support staff.

What they look for

• A bachelor's degree plus at least five years in development, financial services, estate planning or a comparable field.
• Willingness to travel often, including weekends and late evenings, by car and by plane.
• Ability to spend long stretches working at a computer.
• Residence within the eastern region of the United States, since the post is remote.
