Geothermal Drilling Engineer

About the role

Plan and execute diverse drilling projects, from exploratory drilling to geothermal and disposal wells, working with engineers and clients on well designs and drilling programs.

What you will do

• Manage projects through the full life cycle, from proposal to execution, on schedule and within budget
• Prepare and manage expenditure authorization documents with accurate cost estimates and budget approval
• Consult on drilling engineering for exploratory, solution mining and disposal wells
• Design wells and drilling programs covering casing, tubulars, mud systems, cementing and testing
• Supervise operations and monitor safety and compliance

What they look for

• Bachelor of science in petroleum, geological or mining engineering
• At least fifteen years of drilling engineering experience including casing design, fluids, testing and well design
• Experience preparing expenditure authorizations, tracking costs, financial accountability and procurement
• Strong client relationships and ability to support business development
• Professional license or ability to obtain one, plus a driver license and clean driving record

Nice to have

• At least five years of geothermal drilling program design experience
• Familiarity with well delivery processes
• Risk assessment and management experience
• Completions engineering and design, EGS drilling experience
